We are a UK-based charity committed to improve the life of families living in extreme conditions in Brazil. We believe that no-one should be starving or without enough food for the day.
The first goal is to guarantee the survival of every family we help by providing the necessary food every month. Our food packs include non-perishable items, such as rice, beans, pasta, salt, flour and coffee. To increase the nutrients consumption, the families usually complement the food donation with eggs. For £12 we can provide a food pack enough to feed a family of four for one month.
We start with the basics, but we know that is not enough for them to leave poverty behind.
The second goal is to help them overcome extreme poverty by providing basic training, upskilling their employability. The trainings are offered in an ad hoc basis, covering from basic communication skills to etiquette and networking. The objective is to develop and improve their skills making them better prepared for the job market. Most of the families we help live with a very limited income. They are unemployed or work in heavily underpaid services in developing countries, such as office cleaners, construction workers and low-profile hairdressers. In addition, highly taxed products and the large size of their families aggravate their poverty conditions. With basic training, we believe they will find the confidence and develop the necessary skills to become better paid professionals.
